Apple Bread Pudding - Ballerina Farm

Ingredients

BREAD PUDDING

  • 450 g bread cut into cubes
  • 5 eggs
  • 300 g heavy cream
  • 450 g milk
  • 250 g apple sauce
  • 200 g brown sugar
  • 10 g vanilla
  • 2 g cinnamon
  • 1 g nutmeg
  • 2 g salt
  • 55 g melted butter

APPLE FILLING

  • 300 g apples, peeled and diced
  • 25 g butter
  • 25 g brown sugar
  • 2 g cinnamon
  • 1 g cardamom


Directions

BREAD PUDDING

    1. Slice and cube the bread; set aside.

    2. In a bowl, combine eggs, cream, milk, applesauce, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until smooth.

    APPLE FILLING

    1. Add all ingredients to a pan and cook until the apples begin to soften.

    ASSEMBLY

    1. In a large bowl, add the cubed bread. Pour the custard mixture over the bread and stir until all pieces are coated.

    2. Add the cooked apples and mix gently.

    3. Pour into a 9x9-inch pan and let soak for 20 minutes.

    4. Sprinkle with brown sugar on top and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–45 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 200°F (93°C).

    5. Let cool for 10 minutes. Top with buttermilk syrup and enjoy.
