Meat
  • Is your beef grass fed?

The cattle always have access to grass and pasture.  The final 4 months before harvest their grass diet is supplemented with grains to help give the meat flavor and marbling. Hogs are given grain year-round because grass does not give them enough protein to grow.

  • Is your meat organic?

    We are not certified organic.

  • Why does your meat taste so good?

Hard work and love for starters. Built on a foundation of good cattle genetics, the animals thrive on our mountain ranch where there is an abundance of native grasses and fresh water from springs and snow melt.  This natural, stress  free environment simply brings out the best in the animals.  There is no better life for an animal than at Ballerina Farm.

  • Is your meat antibiotic, steroid and hormone free?

Antibiotics are only used in life-threatening situations, which is rare. Our animals are never given steroids or hormones.

  • What goes into the grain you feed your animals?

The grain we feed our animals is a mixture of corn, barley, soybean, and minerals. It is grown and mixed locally! It is not certified organic or non-GMO.

Harvest
  • Is your beef dry-aged?

Absolutely! This helps break down and dissolve the connective tissues and thus tenderize the meat

  • Do you harvest your animals humanely?

All our animals are harvested humanely at local USDA approved butchers. Our butchers are wonderful people and professionals!
