Yields: 2 slushes | Prep Time: 10 minutes | Rest Time: 37 minutes | Total Time: 47 minutes
INGREDIENTS
- 2 teaspoons dried elderberries
- 1 ¼ cups water
- ½ cup fresh blueberries
- ¾ cup frozen strawberries
- 1 grapefruit
- 2 scoops Berry Farmer Hydrate
- 3 cups ice
DIRECTIONS
- Place the elderberries in a mug or heat-proof liquid measuring cup. Boil the water to 210 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit and pour it over the elderberries. Steep for 7 minutes, then strain the tea and discard the berries. Refrigerate the tea (uncovered) until cool, about 30 minutes.
- Once the tea is cooled, measure 1 cup of tea and add it to a blender.
- Add the blueberries, strawberries, and Farmer Hydrate. Halve the grapefruit and juice it to yield ¼ cup juice. Add the grapefruit juice to the blender.
- Finally, add the ice. Blend, starting on low speed and gradually increasing the speed to high. Continue blending until completely smooth and slushy.
- Divide between two glasses and serve immediately.
