Elderberry Slush

Elderberry Slush - Ballerina Farm

Yields: 2 slushes | Prep Time: 10 minutes | Rest Time: 37 minutes | Total Time: 47 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 teaspoons dried elderberries
  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • ½ cup fresh blueberries
  • ¾ cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 grapefruit
  • 2 scoops Berry Farmer Hydrate
  • 3 cups ice

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place the elderberries in a mug or heat-proof liquid measuring cup. Boil the water to 210 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit and pour it over the elderberries. Steep for 7 minutes, then strain the tea and discard the berries. Refrigerate the tea (uncovered) until cool, about 30 minutes.
  2. Once the tea is cooled, measure 1 cup of tea and add it to a blender.
  3. Add the blueberries, strawberries, and Farmer Hydrate. Halve the grapefruit and juice it to yield ¼ cup juice. Add the grapefruit juice to the blender.
  4. Finally, add the ice. Blend, starting on low speed and gradually increasing the speed to high. Continue blending until completely smooth and slushy.
  5. Divide between two glasses and serve immediately.
