Makes: 1 (8-ounce) drink
Ingredients
-
½ teaspoon ceremonial-grade matcha
-
1 ½ ounces filtered water
-
6 ounces whole milk, cold
-
Ice, for serving
Directions
-
Sift the matcha into a small bowl or chawan. Warm the water to 175 degrees Fahrenheit and pour it over the matcha. Using a bamboo whisk (soaked in warm water a few minutes beforehand) or frother, whisk in an ‘M’ shape until the tea is suspended in the water and there is a nice foam over the top.
-
In a drinking glass, whisk together the cold milk and electrolytes until smooth and slightly frothy. Add a large handful of ice, pour in the matcha (and its foam), then stir and enjoy.
