Sourdough Corndogs

Ingredients

  • 8 Ballerina Farm bratwurst (fully cooked)
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup Ballerina Farm high protein farm flour
  • 1 cup active sourdough starter
  • 1/2 tsp Ballerina Farm coarse grey french salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Dash of ground cloves
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • Avocado oil for frying (or any high smoke point oil)

Directions

  1. Whisk together all ingredients and pour into a tall glass
  2. Put a wooden skewer length-wise through the fully-cooked bratwurst
  3. Coat the bratwurst with flour (helps batter adhere to the brat)
  4. Dip into the batter and place in preheated oil.
  5. Cook until dark golden and enjoy with fresh honey.

  • Makes 8 servings!
