Enamel Colander

One of our most used kitchewares, the enamel colander is a charming utilitarian piece to add to your collection. When not in use to rinse and strain, it double as a timeless counter-top fruit and veggie bowl to show off the seasonal picks from our farm garden.

Our enamelware is handcrafted from a steel base with a porcelain-infused coating that is fired in a kiln where it hardens to a smooth surface. Just like other ceramic dishes, the outer porcelain layer can chip if mishandled, revealing the steel beneath it. When this happens, the steel below naturally oxidizes and if the chip is on the outside of the piece, it remains safe to use. If the chip occurs inside the piece where food is consumed, it is no longer food safe. Because our enamel is made by hand, colors may vary slightly from batch to batch. We love the unique character this gives to each individual piece.

Care instructions included with your order. Dishwasher, oven, stovetop and freezer safe. Not microwave safe.
